Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a potentially serious sleep disorder. People who go untreated stop breathing repeatedly during their sleep. This can lead to the brain and the rest of the body not getting enough oxygen. Which in turn can lead to stroke, heart failure, diabetes, depression, and serious headaches. Sleep apnea can be tricky to diagnose. To give a clue, nighttime symptoms include loud persistent snoring, pauses in breathing, choking or gasping, and restless sleep. In addition, daytime symptoms include morning headaches, daytime fatigue, poor concentration, and irritability. In case you find yourself experiencing a number of these symptoms, contact your doctor for an appointment.
